Boot Room: 10 Pairs For Winter Walking
Your trainers are under lock and key and brogues just wont keep your jeans from dragging through the slush. Time to invest in some boots then...
When I was a younger man, with an eye on terrace fashions, I spent all of my hard-earned on the latest trainers. While I’m not sure about growing old gracefully, it has been a revelation to see my tastes evolve away from three stripes and a wide sole. Clothes might maketh the man, but the right footwear is essential in creating a good first impression. The following pairs of boots are listed in no order of preference. I love them all…
Trickers x Present London Brogue
Various colours of these bad boys are available, and although I prefer the green, these burgundy beauties come a close second.
Fracap Scarponcini Boot
I considered the brown leather but, with my head turned by the suede, got a pair in a blue version of these shown. I then sold them for as tidy profit as they’re lusted after online.
Yuketen hunt boot
Probably the comfiest footwear I’ve ever owned, an American site says to wear these without socks to bring out your inner moose trapper. Or something like that.
Quoddy Grizzly boot
I chose the navy after I sold my navy Fracap’s and I couldnt wish for a finer leather casual boot.
Yuketen Maine Guide boot
Great casual styling, robust and hefty like the price tag (£300). You won’t need to buy another pair anytime soon.
Trickers x Present London suede
The suede cousins of the London Boot. Bright? check. Expensive? Check. Utterly sodding brilliant? Checkmate.
Grenson Fred boot
They might scream dandy with a capital D, but you can still pull these muthas off down the juicer on a saturday afternoon.
Santo Domingo Boot
I’ve had various comments about these bobby dazzlers, but worn with the right garments they look ace. If Marmite did boots…
Oliver Spencer Farringdon boot
A beautiful boot. Smart, casual, concert, whatever; these pearlers are right for any occasion.
Weaver Mocc’s crow boot
Close relatives of the Clark’s Wallabee. More than a hint of eskimo about them, but there is nothing wrong with that.

You're right about how comfy the Yuketens are Shaun. Bought a pair of the moccasins - not the boots - a while back and it's like walking on clouds!
nice selection ! i would be glad if i knew more about your "the individual" - forum. i couldn´t find it via google.
Weekender here's a link mate.... http://theindividual.userboard.net/ The Yuketen are lovely Keith, I'm going for the angler moc' next too, I'm not sure if some of the write up's on the boot's make sense as there was a bit of chopping and editing to my word's once it was sent, maybe a bit too "lad" some of the grammar for the editor's but hopefully it make's sense to those reading.
Makes sense to me. (By the way, thoughts are with you and all that today)
cheers for the link !
A top selection of the finest footwear available. I too have a pair of navy Quoddy Grizzly boots and agree with your comment. I would also recomend the Quoddy Organic Waterproffer which is one of the finest "dubbings" I've come across. BYW love your blog Shawn. Easy John
A fine collection of footwear
The boot for today I have some Adidas on feet a fukin cold!
You forget: Clarks Originals Desert Mali Duck Boots Zonkey Boots Re-style Jungle Boots
the yuketen maine boots are nice but the rest are absolute gash.....in fact, they're pretty offensive on the eyes
Posh kids boots SP ....
Posh kid haha, I like that, me and prince William are 2 pea's in a pod
i mean, come on....multi colured brogue boots?!?! are you on drugs?
Not as much as I would like to be these day's panza no, as I said in the original article before it was edited.... "all 10 would never appeal to everyone, it's impossible to generate a list of everybody's taste's and even if I could that would be completely pointless, if we all sat here drooling over the same thing's I think I would just give up and live a life of normality draped in threads from Marks & Spencers and wearing Burtons leather slip on's trawling the food isles of my local Sainsburys waiting for the smell of the fish counter to waft my way (being the pervert that I am). It's not trying to generate a top 10, it's just boot's I love.....being the posh kid that I am ;-)
Posh? Superb!
You missed not just the obvious but the original and still the best two....Doc Martins boots and Catapillar Steel Toe work boots (not the fall apart fashion ones). Both classic 80's boots that all this 'posh boy' lot fail to replicate.
mong boots the lot of 'em.
In your opinion Wata ;-). I've not missed them out, they would'nt have made the next 10 imho, but if you read my above post I knew they would'nt be everyone's cup of tea, they were not meant to be, and to be fair it's almost 2011, the 80's were the 80's, time to move on my friend
"all 10 would never appeal to everyone" you would if you wasted most of your time drooling over fashion blogs like a true fashion victim......
I wouldn't know panza I'm sure you could tell me all about it though
i could but i'm no fashionista daarling....
Those Oliver Spencers are killer...
