Carlos Tevez’s Guide to the Manchester Derby

His acrimonious split from United means there's no love lost between Carlos Tevez and United. As the two sides prepare for what will be the most explosive Manchester derby in years, why not enjoy the fiery Argentine's trashing of The Reds.

The difference between City and United fans

“City fans are fans that come from the city of Manchester and they are more humble. The whole club is. This is not like United.”

Looking for revenge against Fergie

“I can’t deny how proud I felt when my family visited my at Old Trafford and the entire stadium was singing, “Argentino, Argentino!”. I’ve spent two years at United and they were wonderful years, I gave everything for that jersey, but I finally considered what was best for me and I made the decision to leave. If I ever regret it? No, not at all. United didn’t do anything to keep me. And I don’t stay where I’m not needed. God is big and he gave me a revenge here at City.”

God is big and he gave me a revenge here at City.

Goading Gary Neville last season after scoring against United
“My celebration was directed at Gary Neville. He acted like a complete boot-licker when he said I wasn’t worth £25m just to suck up to the manager. Just as I was running off to celebrate the penalty I had scored, I came across Gary and I said to myself: ‘Shut your trap, keep quiet.’ I didn’t go overboard in my celebration and it was directed at Gary, not at Ferguson and not at the fans.”

Why fans love him wherever he goes
“I think the people love me for what I am, I have charisma and stamina. It happens with the national team and it happens with my team, too.”

That close encounter with Noel Gallagher
“One of my most embarrassing moments at City was the day I met Noel Gallagher. We were all in the dressing room after a game and most of the lads were taking a shower. I usually go last. When I come off the shower, I couldn’t find a towel anywhere. Suddenly comes this club official: ‘Carlos, come here please, there’s someone that wants to meet you’. I didn’t think someone could be inside the dressing room, so I approached and suddenly, I was shaking hands with Noel. Completely naked and completely embarrassed.”

His happiness
“Physically I feel well, and I’ve been scoring often. The only thing that prevents me from smiling is when I’m injured. Other than that, I’m always happy.”

Why Fergie just can’t get over him
“I know that Ferguson loves me, that’s why he always talks about me”

Forget Ferdinand, Manchester United's Michael Carrick Is The Glaring Omission From England's Euro 2012 Squad

While popular debate focuses on Rio Ferdinand's exclusion, the real concern should be that once again England's under-valued midfield maestro Michael Carrick has been overlooked.
