Manchester United v Barcelona: 5 Reasons To Hate United And Support Barca

I hate Manchester United. I hate everything about the club. Their victory and joy brings me nothing but pain and misery. Here's why I'll be supporting Barcelona

I hate Manchester United. I hate everything about the club. Their victory and joy brings me nothing but pain and misery. Here’s why I’ll be supporting Barcelona…

Arrogant fans, arrogant players, arrogant manager and the press wrapped around their little finger, surely, every other football fan in England feels slightly sick whenever seeing anyone even loosely affiliated with the club?

This evening, Manchester United will line up against an equally reprehensible Barcelona team in the UEFA Champions League final.

The British press will lubricate themselves sufficiently in the game’s build up by telling us that for one night Manchester United are representing England, and we should want them to beat those arrogant Catalans, those cheats from Barcelona.  Then should Manchester United win, that lube will come in handy as they all invite Fergie to stick whatever he wants wherever, in a pathetic attempt to get the post-victory exclusive.

Well, I urge you all to resist this unity and remember what a hateful collection of assorted terminal illness Manchester United are. If you need further convincing, please read the five reasons why I will be supporting Barcelona this evening.

Wayne Rooney

Is there an athlete with less class than Wayne Rooney? He cheats on the pitch, he cheats on his wife, he clearly has total contempt for his own fans (why else would he have sworn down a camera at the world cup or held United to ransom for more money?) and he is violent. I lost any respect I had for this man the day his kissed his United badge in front of the Everton fans. What a complete tool. I hope he dies alone in floods of tears.

Scrap that, I’ve never met a United fan that lives within 100 miles of Old Trafford

Alex Ferguson

An excellent manager and clearly a very clever man, how else has he managed to hoodwink the United supporters that he even remotely cares about them? Alex Ferguson cares about one man. He backs the Glazers, bullies his players, bullies the world’s national coaches and treats anyone who isn’t willing to sing from his hymn sheet (Kenny Dalglish, BBC, Ian Holloway) like total scum.

The sycophantic media

Although it’s true that Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal have more cheerleaders represented in football punditry, any journalist who wants to keep their job knows that to criticise Fergie can only result in one thing – alienation from Manchester United and no access to any of their players or staff.

The ‘Theatre of Dreams’

Old Trafford has the worst atmosphere of any stadium in the UK, including the Emirates. I’ve been as an away fan and as a neutral in the home seats and at each of these games the atmosphere has been woeful. People don’t know the songs, don’t know each other and look awkward as they’re probably worried some northerner will nick their wallet. The pitch is crap too.

The fans

Manchester United have the worst supporters in Europe, fact. I know it’s a cliche to say it, but I’ve never met a Mancunian United fan. Scrap that, I’ve never met a United fan that lives within 100 miles of Old Trafford. Actually, scrap that again, most Manchester United fans I meet have been to Old Trafford fewer times than me.  This argument is always met with “well, the players don’t all come from Manchester”.

Fine, believe that if you want, but are you seriously telling me that living in the South East, never going to any games and bowling around in a United shirt gives you anything like the connection to the club that playing for it does?

What memories do you have of the club? What does the club ‘mean’ to you? Answer me these questions with genuine sincerity (and I will not accept that your family support them you pathetic drongos) and we shall take it from there. Failing that, tell me who the 3 managers before Fergie were without using Wikipedia.

Yeah, I thought not…

You pathphetic sick scouser most United fans will at least support any English team that gets to a euro final and by the way i think fergie is a twat too but he is a good manager.
10:15 am, 28-May-2011carlnorth
You are one sad man. Filled with hate. Blinkered by your own bigotry. It won't belong before we see you on the news I'm sure, for some heinous crime as a result of s breakdown. Seriously, get some help you sad sick boy.

John Smiths drinker? Bitter cunt.
10:24 am, 28-May-2011carlnorth
By the way, you believe club, manager, players and fans are arrogant purely because we've won everything, continue doing so and enjoy the fact we are. Jealous idiot. Rooney - mixed up football genious but at least he's made something of himself unlike you, a sad bitter mixed up loser Sir Alex - Achieved more at one club than any new manager coud ever hope. Will never be done again Media - United against us. You obvioulsy switch off the second you read (that's if you ever do read) anything regarding United because the majority of it is negative Theatre of Dreams/Fans - great atmosphere on any big day/night. Not so great on less important matches but I don't blame some fans for not getting excited about playing bolton, when we have the likes of inter, AC, Real and Barca midweek. We'll leave getting excited about playing a mid-table club to the likes of you and your teams fans who clearly have nothing to play for other than an extra place up the table. You've never met a mancunian United fan - then your an idiot. I go to every game and the 12 others I go with are mancs. As are most of the 1000's who sit around us in the stretford end. Get a life you idiot
10:27 am, 28-May-2011JM
I have never read such nonsense
10:30 am, 28-May-2011Zayn
Hey, come on son, why are you hating on United just because we're one of the best teams in the world? To be frank, I didn't even read the article, I just saw a few words, like "I hate everything about the club" and "arrogant players, arrogant manager..." Firstly, just because the club has been successful isn't a valid reason to hate it. Secondly, yeah, arrogance is a pain in the ass, but when you've accomplished everything that Sir Alex has, you have every fucking right to be arrogant. He's the best manager ever. That's a fact, not my opinion as a United fan. Muhammad Ali was arguably the best boxer ever... you're gonna tell me that you hated him too because he was arrogant? Yeah, yeah, whatever. Go dig a hole son, hating on United just because they've achieved so much under Sir Alex. OK, I've just read most of it as not reading it and commenting would be unfair to you. What I have to say is this... The atmosphere at Old Trafford is bloody brilliant. I don't know what you've experienced there, but I've been there several times and each time it was excellent. The crowd was amazing and the players were appreciative of our support. And honestly, I'm not a Mancunian, but I support them. You can have a go at people like me all you want, but the simple fact is that when I was young, I saw United's treble winning season. I say how they played, how they endured and how they never lost faith. To win the Champion's League in that fashion was something really special, and that's what made me fall in love with the club. You call me a "glory hunter," I say I just love the way they play football, because I'd rather watch United over any other team in the world, any day of the week. Thanks for your time

Just another scouser jealous of our success. 19 Times Luke you Tw@T!!!
10:45 am, 28-May-2011GR
Haha - you bitter looser....
10:55 am, 28-May-2011Luke McGee
How many of you are going tonight? Thanks for the comments.
11:12 am, 28-May-2011RedScot
Show us your ST at Anfield? Pillock you made United's day, you just look a failure. A bit of pre match entertainment? Remember darling when you last won a Premiership trophy? oppsie never. Now piss of back to your hole.Idiot.
11:20 am, 28-May-2011Laurence
Luke, great article, very intelligent, well articulated and fair. There is no doubting you're a genius. Oh, and a hater and probably a pool or city fan. It is people like you that make united stronger so keep up your good work son. What you have written is utter tripe. You know nothing about Manchester or United. If you did you would realise that it is full of fans who are born and bread. Keep up the good work, you bitter, twisted tit.
11:27 am, 28-May-2011Sanket
You know what I know why you are jealous. It's because we revived our club from Munich disaster! And for your last question name the 3 managers before fergie, It's your club's fault that you don't have a manager who could last more than 2 years and that's why you haven't won the league for 21 years. and you know what I respect Liverpool for their History and I don't care how many trophies they have because whatever happens I will support United even if they go down in conference league! And yes another thing FUCK OFF YOU FUCKING BASTARD AND FUCK YOUR ASSHOLE!
12:07 pm, 28-May-2011SonOfScouse
Nice work Luke, instead of enjoying the build up Salford Shitehawks fans are trolling around here throwing their toys out the pram. Hilarious, Fine job! :D
12:18 pm, 28-May-2011Luke McGee
Thank you for even more comments. I am not a scouser, despite your assumptions. Trolls do make my day! None of you answered my question - how many of you are going tonight?
12:27 pm, 28-May-2011BrummieVillan238
Luke - dear oh dear mate. You must have spent hours making a huge blog just to spit bile about Utd, the club, it's manager and supporters! Not being funny here, but isn't that just frankly very sad considering you're meant to be an adult? In the whole of your long bitter rant you've not once mentioned who you support. If you feel so much hate towards Utd then there has to be an extremely good reason for it. If you're a Liverpool, Man City or even a Cockney Chelsea or Arsenal fan, then sadly you're just jealous of Utd success and are ashamed of your own club's lack of recent success. This is from a neutral Aston Villa fan who has no bitterness towards Utd, someone who's proud of who I support and someone who wants Utd to win today for the benefit of English football. GROW UP LUKE!
12:34 pm, 28-May-2011mick

Excellent stuff and the comments all go to prove most of his points are correct. What I hate the most is the media love in of Wayne Rooney. Recently the Guardian have run a couple of articles which were basically just Man United press releases, one was saying the reason they agreed to his demands for more money was because they heard he was joining Manchester City and they had to do everything to stop that. Then another article reporting on how foolish Rooney felt for asking for a transfer request and of course his heart was with Man United - and not one mention of the massive wage increase and how it was clearly a cynicalploy to get more money from the club. The two articles in question actually went as far as to paint his actions in a positive light! And as for the Man United fans in Swindon, what an absolute joke, it is unbelievable the numbers of them. They actually console themselves over the fact that Swindon were relegated with the fact that Man U won the Premier League.
1:32 pm, 28-May-2011RedScot
@ THE Author of this drivvle, not his/her 'girlie' back up, like old town, Son of scouse etc etc.If you were not so basically thick you keep asking "are you going to the game" Do you know anything about how to actually recieve a Champions league ticket and the ballot at United? Do you know how many briefs United were allocated out of the total that were availiable at Wembley.Do you know how many people applied for a ticket for the game.Do you know the cost of a ticket for the game? You basically in my eyes are just an attention seeker and your lame arguement and debating points ignorant. Stick to your pathetic German side. Watch later and we will lift the Champions league trophy!Your envy only spurs on our great Club.
1:33 pm, 28-May-2011Luke McGee
RedScot, you are an idiot. I have been to CL finals before, I know how you get tickets and if you love the club (as you so claim) you could have got one.
1:39 pm, 28-May-2011RedScot
Fuck off.Fail. you revert to abuse cunt. You cant answer my questions. Numptie. You put yourself up on a pedestal, consider yourself knocked down bye a youngster.

All United fans on here are doing nothing but proving the writers' points with their hate-filled, incoherent, thuggish responses. So guys, how many of you ARE actually going to tonights' game? Let's be honest, for 98% of you, Wembley is a lot closer to your homes than Old Trafford is. So instead of starting a campaign to ban Luke from the whole Internet (remind you of anyone?), stick your hands in your pockets and support the team you supposedly love. A Sky TV subscription doesn't give you the moral high-ground here folks...
2:04 pm, 28-May-2011BrummieVillan238
Luke is just another sad German supporter of a little club going nowhere people. No need to worry about such a bitter, immature kid. Always hates everything English and especially Utd after they beat Bayern back in 1999 in the final few minutes to win the historic treble. What's even worse here is that hate isn't even based at club level, but on a xenophobic one; racist jerk. I must admit though for a German who clearly is barely out of nappies his English is pretty good lol.
2:11 pm, 28-May-2011Tom Okker
Worth it for the comments alone, and just further illustrates how utterly classless and clueless Man U fans are. Have you took down that banner on the Stretford End yet about City's trophyless run? The biggest small club in the world. Visca El Barca y Visca Catalunya!
2:11 pm, 28-May-2011RedScot

Also RedScot, your spelling really needs looking into, awful.
2:50 pm, 28-May-2011Luke McGee
BrummieVillan238 - I don't understand your assertion that race has something to do with my opinions? You are the one that has made this about race. Why would a Frankfurt fan care about a club beating Bayern? I wouldn't suggest that you are racist, but it's you that has made a judgment on someone because of their race. Shocking.
3:48 pm, 28-May-2011David Davidson
Horrible Manc cunts, Horrible Manc Cunts EVERYWHERE
3:50 pm, 28-May-2011BrummieVillan238
Luke - ok if you're not xenophobic then what on earth is your problem with Utd that you feel compelled to waffle on with paragraph after paragraph of hate-filled drivel? I mean, your club has absolutely no rivalry history with Utd and where their supporters hail from shouldn't frankly bother you at all. The only assumption I can make is that either you dislike England (seeing as Utd by my own admittance is the biggest club in this country) meaning you ARE racist or you're no Frankfurt fan and actually support Liverpool, Man City or any other rival club that has it's own minority of pointless bitters. Not so much "shocking" as you put it, but your hate is more BAFFLING to me...
3:52 pm, 28-May-2011Luke McGee
You have issues my friend.
4:04 pm, 28-May-2011BrummieVillan238
I've got issues aye. Wow, delusion is not a word I use often, but I can't think of anything more appropriate. Remember I'm not the one who posted a hate-filled blog in the first place mate about a club from another country which has no connection with me or the club I support. Anyway got to go, got some more important paint drying to watch...
5:09 pm, 28-May-2011Luke McGee

6:30 pm, 28-May-2011Slater
Best article I've read in ages. The worst thing about Fergie, except having to watch his red face chew gum open-mouthed, is that he seems to think he gets all the bad decisions! My bets are that Vidic will escape a red card tonight! COME ON BARCA!!!!!
6:38 pm, 28-May-2011Robin Hood
Started out watching Stanley Matthews at Stoke, pure magic. Then I came to Manchester and saw George Best & David Beckham, now those 2 had and have more Magic that the Inner Circle. Oh and all you Football fans stop wearing club shirts on your holdays, you look right plonkers. Team strips belong on Players and kids not Beer swilling 50 year olds.
1:01 am, 29-May-2011Ali Khan
I am a Liverpool supporter but on this occasion I was behind United - there is something called National Pride. Unfortunately our lads never got near the goal, never mind having a shot at it. Messi mesmerised them. They should have done better. It was embarrassing to see them play like boys. Will Fergie now call it a day? He looked tired
5:40 am, 29-May-2011Matthew, Manchester.
I'm from Manchester and most of the people I go to games with are Mancs. Those I've met who are not are old timers, who if they had been glory hunters would have picked Liverpool... as they were the team with the glory back then. I started supporting them as my family supports them, but with my age it meant I started supporting us in the second division...hardly any glory there. The reason for your hatred, before we get to the lies, is summed up early on. "Success"... well I'm afraid you won't find us apologising for that. If you could press a magic button and your club were the ones winning everything, you'd do it. And overnight, you would be the ones being hated. Such is the way of the fickle fan.
8:45 am, 29-May-2011Dave
Just had a look back into this one since my first response to the fool's "piece". Thought it'd be good to after we were outclassed by Barcalona last night. It appears that a few other's, hard men comin anonymously on a forum slinging more shit at United fans - it's the one chance the little pricks get to do it. Anyway - I went to the game. It seems to be a big question from them reading through the comments - are you going - yeah but are you going bla bla bla. Why is that such an important thing with ABU's? We have the best following in the world but the ground fits just over 78000 so everyone can't fit in can they?? It would need to hold about 300 million! People are entitled to be considered as "fans" without going to games. There are "fans" like this of all clubs - it just so happens that we have most because we are United. These idiots who do these blogs are basically little girls. He'll have been sat in the safety of his little girly bedroom playing with himself that he's got a response out of United fans. No doubt he does hate like many do but putting that bile out shows what we have to put up with. The thing is though, we are the biggest football club in the world. Being a Manc I feel very proud of that. We'll build in the summer & come back stronger next term. ONE LOVE
9:55 am, 29-May-2011KC
It was nice to see ManU get owned by Barcelona.
12:55 pm, 29-May-2011matt
@ KC it was nice to see manchester united in a final too. you know.. an important one.
2:24 pm, 29-May-2011Tom Okker
With each passing comment, it just gets better.
9:30 pm, 29-May-2011Keeley
Typical bitter, bitter UTD fans! Playing in the shadow of Liverpool for many, many years. Now finally, whilst Liverpool have had an internal breakdown, you have got the chance to be the so called 'champions'. The only thing you are champions of is having a team full of horrific role models for people to support. (note the word used - 'support'. The worst fan base in the whole of the Prem, if not the UK)
10:34 pm, 29-May-2011LEEDS
munich 58 , LEEDS , you are obsessed with liverpool , COME ON leeds ! hope you irish mancs all die, wankers, and you in stretford i feel sorry for you ! LEEDS
4:57 pm, 30-May-2011Hustmania
Ok comeon guys Seriously, Luke is no more a Frankfurt fan than im the first man that walked on the moon, name me the last 3 Frankfurt managers without using Wikipedia, no wait dont bother i dont care. The reason United has so many fans outside of Manchester is that we happened to become successfull at a time when The premier League was being advertised globally and games are being shown all over the world, dont be fooled "scouse luke" we still retain the core Manchester fans youll know who they are there are the ones in the stretford end that are takin great pleasure in gloating just like Livepool did to us when you were the most hated club in England in the 80s you know why you were the most hated club in the 80s, because you were the most successfull, success breeds hate and us United fans be we local or global lap up the hate because we know we must be doing something right. Oh and Luke dont try and convince me that your anything else but a bitter scouser because on a bitter scouser could spend so much time and energy on such a long well thought out doctrine of hate against Englands most successful club
8:48 pm, 30-May-2011Louis
Very well written article, although I don't think you can label these non-Mancunians as 'fans'. The away 'supporters' at our fourth round FA Cup game with them this season (I'm guessing they were all from the local area) were vile - chucking rubbish on the pitch, destroying advertising boards, lighting (and throwing) flares on the pitch. They were animals. So glad Barça won. From a Southampton fan.
9:42 pm, 30-May-2011Luke McGee
Hustmania - First, nice name. Secondly you are quite a fool if you think I am a Micky Mouser! Paranoid Manchester (well, not really Manchester) United 'fans', eh?
12:48 pm, 18-Jun-2011Luke McGee loves man united
Luke you need a hug petal. The amount of brain space our team occupy in your head must give you headaches. I am as manc as they come, been going to OT since I was 7 years old and I am truly compelled by the level of energy you people expel towards our club. Keep hating as we keep succeeding sweet cheeks. 19 x

found an outler to prove who stupid you are? well done, you're a fucking idiot.
7:35 am, 6-Nov-2011Good article
Good atricle Luke, Man United fans are the most classless and clueless in the world. The hilarious thing is they think everyone despises them because they're successful. Is that so? Why do these same people admire the infinitely superior Barcelona team, then? If people are jealous of success then they'd surely be jealous of the best? As for the idiot above claiming that Man United are 'the biggest club in the world' - Real Madrid are pissing themselves, mate.
10:54 pm, 14-Nov-2011nkufo
dn't u hv oda tins 2 do
5:20 am, 15-Jan-2012Nick Baker
Wow, what bile. So Luke, you're an Eintracht Frankfurt fan? Are you from Frankfurt? Not a very German name now is it, but I respect your right to support whoever you like. Oh yes, and you say you've been to Old Trafford as an away fan. Funny, cos there's no record of Eintracht Frankfurt playing a competitive game at Old Trafford. Maybe it was a friendly. That might account for the lack of atmosphere. So who should I support? My Dad - a Mancunian through and through - moved our family to a place called Stroud in the sixties. Rugby Union everywhere, and no local teams to support. I grew up surrounded by Liverpool and Leeds fans and was the only United fan in my class. We regularly finished around 8th in the league, and had a few good cup runs. If I was a glory fan I'd be a liverpool supporter. What are people supposed to do when there is no local team? I'm pretty sure Tommy Docherty was the manager when I first went to a game with my Dad, and then it was Dave Sexton. Ron Atkinson certainly made way for Sir Alex. So I'll go for those 3. I think there's probably better ways for you to compensate for your small penis, rather than spouting all this hate.
11:56 pm, 13-Feb-2012Ian
