Arsenal & Liverpool At War Over £16m French Striker

Liverpool’s Premier League title charge fell down at the final hurdle this campaign - and it appears that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has already set his sides on a new forward in an attempt to maintain the momentum shown by his side of late.

The Northern Irishman has apparently been tracking newly-promoted QPR’s French hitman, Loic Remy, who has been in brilliant form for on loan at Newcastle this season, especially when you consider that, well, they’re just not that good are they?

Having notched a whopping 14 goals during his time on the north east the gallic goal grabber has proved his top tier credentials, and now the Premier League elite are readying themselves to do battle for his signature - at a cost of around £16 million.

Despite his parent club gaining their place back in the promised land yesterday, it looks highly unlikely that the player will remain at Loftus Road, and he could be tempted by a move to Merseyside.

These things are never easy though - and Rodgers could be in for a scrap for this lad.

Across the capital, Arsene Wenger is limbering up, cracking his knuckles and rolling his neck (let’s just take a moment to imagine that) ready to go head to head for the striker, and with Olivier Giroud likely to exit the Emirates this summer, the Gunners definitely need added cutting edge, too. If an audacious move for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema doesn’t come off, which let’s be honest, looks about 99% probably, then Remy is a decent - and cheap - alternative.
