Bayern Munich have stepped aside in the fight for Julian Draxler - but will he choose London or Manchester this summer?

Arsenal & Man United Fight Over Playmaker As Munich Rule Out Move

In the aftermath of Saturday’s 6-0 mauling by Chelsea, there is *some* good news for Gunners fans.

An audible sigh of relief has just been breathed by all at the Emirates, as Bavarian big dogs Bayern Munich have ruled themselves out of a move for Gunners’ number one target Julian Draxler this summer.

The twenty year old Schalke playmaker is widely regarded as one of the finest young playmakers in Europe - and Arsene Wenger is well-known to have been tracking the player’s progress for some time now.

But for all his posing and posturing, the Arsenal boss has not yet put his money where his mouth is - and, amid fierce speculation of Bayern’s renewed interest earlier this week, it looked like the Frenchman’s hesitation could prove costly.

Bayern chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has rejected those rumours though - and reckons that there is no chance of his club signing any player from either Schalke, or indeed Borussia Dortmund, this summer.

It will be welcome news to the rest of the Bundesliga, as they look to close the massive gulf which has developed between the Best Team In The World™ , and the remaining German sides who are playing for second.

But happiest of all will be Arsene Wenger, who is now in pole position to secure the £40 million signature of the player, despite interest from Man United.

Old Trafford boss David Moyes desperately needs to rejuvenate his lagging middle third - and with a £200 million bounty coming his way this summer, will be keen to put the cat amongst the pigeons in the transfer market.

But with no Champions League football, United might struggle in their quest to convince the German to move to the north west rather than North London.

I'm not sure he is even what Arsenal need? One thing i am sure of is that with a choice between Wenger & Moyes and the Champions league and no european football at all it's a bit of a no-brainer. Moyes would probably play him at right back anyway.

Moyes to Draxler: "Just punt the ball up to that giant Bogbrush, lad."

Broadhead, Draxler is exactly what Arsenal need. PACE PACE PACE good technically and he has height and plays on the wing and he is very young.
