But, you know how it is. Just when you think everything is rosy, and going great, something always comes along to bite you on the arse - or the arm - and, in Liverpool’s case, that something could well be Man City’s pesky coach Manuel Pellegrini.
The Chilean gaffer has, according to the Sunday Times, set his sights on a summer raid of the Reds, stealing their star striker Luis Suarez in the process - as he aims to add even more firepower to his already overflowing squad.
Despite only recently penning a new contract which will tie him to Anfield until 2018, Spanish rag Marca reckons that Manchester City have the calculator out, totting up how much money they have left in their piggy bank - and the player might just fancy getting his, ahem, teeth stuck into a mega-bucks deal across the M62.
Having developed a deadly partnership with Daniel Sturridge this season, such a move would come as a shock to all at Anfield, but as the old saying goes ‘money talks’.
